Publishing Microsoft Copilot Studio Agents in M365

April 1, 2026
Join Michael as he demos the process for publishing Copilot Agents in your M365 store.

Introduction

Hey everybody, Michael Buckman here. I wanted to quickly show you how you can publish your Copilot Studio agents in the Microsoft 365 Copilot agent store. I wanted to record this because it can be a little misleading inside of Copilot Studio, specifically in the Teams and M365 Copilot channel.

A lot of the wording is driven toward the Teams experience, since this originally was a Teams-only channel. I’m here to make this as straightforward and easy as possible to get these new Copilot Studio agents into the M365 Copilot store so users can go ahead and add them.

All right, let’s get started.

Creating and Publishing the Agent

The first thing we need to do is create an agent. Once that agent is created, go ahead and click on Channels, and then add the M365 Copilot and Teams channel to your agent.

Once you’ve done that, publish the agent and refresh the page. After the page refreshes, go back to the Teams and M365 Copilot channel. Click on Availability options, then select Show to everyone in my org.

That does not release your agent to everyone in your organization.

Admin Approval and Release Options

Next, click Submit for admin approval. A dialog will pop up—click Yes. That still does not release the agent to everyone in your organization.

Now go to the M365 Admin Center, navigate to the Agents section, and then Overview. You’ll see a box showing the new request that just came through. Click on your agent and select Publish.

Once again, that does not publish it to everyone in your organization. That selection happens in the next step.

Choosing Who Gets Access

In the next step, you can select specific users or publish the agent to everyone in your organization. This is where it actually gets released, depending on what you choose.

You also have the option to automatically install the agent for users—or for everyone in your organization—inside their M365 Copilot, which is pretty cool. You can either let users search for the agent in the agent store or have it automatically installed for them.

Once you’ve made those selections, choose a policy and then select Submit.

Final Availability and Wrap-Up

After that, it may take a minute or two for the agent to show up in M365 Copilot, either through the agent store or via automatic installation.

Once it’s available, you’re all set. You can start using your agent within the M365 Copilot experience.

I think this is where Microsoft is heading, with all agents being fed into a single place. You end up with a one-stop shop for all your Copilot Studio agents, whether that’s Copilot Studio Light or the full Copilot Studio.

All right, thank you so much. I appreciate your time, and thanks for watching.
